It’s no secret that newborns are my favorite.

Mr. Isaac decided to make his debut to the Outer Banks this December. Talk about a perfect Christmas gift! He and his parents made the long trip from one of my all time favorite places Ocracoke Island, NC. Lucky boy, I agree.

Isaac was a perfect gentleman the entire session & we even got a shot with him in his stocking

Between shopping, wrapping, baking, traveling, planning, photographing & moving Red Head (our elf on the shelf) from place to place everyday this lady has been b-u-s-y.

I had a fun filled day of holiday mini’s a few weeks back. We had a blast even though we had to move the session from the beach to the sound side (due to crazy unpredictable OBX wind) but it worked out just fine. A BIG thanks goes out to Bells and Whistles / The Flower Field & Emporium Isle for the beautiful vintage couch that our families were able to lounge on. Emporium Isle Rentals is an unique company specializing in vintage goods for weddings and events.

So with everyone being as busy as this lady I’ll keep this short and sweet. Whatever you believe, Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Now I’m going back to spending time with loved ones but not before sharing a few of my favorites from the merry month of December.

Hello lovely fans & web stalkers

I have HUGE, GIGANTIC news. Drum roll please…

I have paired up with an extremely rad husband & wife duo Chad & Genevieve Stewart, aka Genevieve Stewart’s Moving Art Productions. It’s quite difficult to find a photographer that sees the world in a similar light so when I heard through the grapevine (aka Facebook) that they were looking for an associate photographer I felt that it was a great match, and so did they!

Sessions will be 20 minutes each (no longer)

One family per session only (meaning no extended family; no large groups)

DVD of all images with reprint permission. (5-10+ images)

COST: $75

LOCATION: Nags Head beach; once your time slot has been confirmed I will email exact location.

HOW TO BOOK: You must email me whitneybshaw@gmail.com with the title HOLIDAY MINIS in order to book a date. All dates/times are on a first come first served basis..no slots will be held for any reason.

FYI: If you’re late, that cuts into your session. You will not be allotted any additional time as that will cut unfairly into the next persons session.

Check or Cash due at the beginning of your session, no exceptions.

It’s so much fun seeing my smallest clients and having the opportunity to photograph them before & after birth. It’s even better when mom and dad have trust in me to do “whatever” with them

Living on the Outer Banks you constantly run into cool water babies with unique names. Saylor was such a good sport and we even managed to get big brother Banks in for a few shots. I know, great names right?!

Saylor is as sweet as they come. Enjoy.

Peanut Zoey {20 days}

If you read my blog on a regular basis you might remember the Bossola family. I did a family/maternity session with Dallas and her family a few months back. If that doesn’t ring a bell then maybe the home birth photographs stick out in your mind.

This is Zoey. That sweet baby that was born in the safety and comfort of her own home right here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

I will always have a special place in my heart for baby Zoey, seeing as I have photographed her since she was in the womb.

CAUTION: I know she looks sleepy and peaceful in these photographs but girlfriend is a rock star. When she demanded we dropped it all and rolled with her punches.

In case you were wondering, mama craved jelly beans while she was growing this sweet treat (insert baby in giant bowl of jelly beans)

Stephanie + Derek = Kobe <3

We rolled a 3-in-1 session a few weeks back! I know, hard core! Family+mini engagement+cake smash. Kobe was a super cool little dude, even sporting a mo hawk for the shoot. We got up at the butt crack of dawn and met at the beach in Nags Head. If you’re reading this and you know me you’re thinking to yourself…Whitney loves to sleep and hates waking up early with a passion. I could literately sleep until 11 AM everyday with no problem but the older I get the more I do enjoy the mornings. Coffee, being with my family & watching the sunrise are just a few great things that happen early. So we did get to see the beautiful morning sun poking through the clouds that day & I had a great time hanging with the soon-to-be Mrs. Hayden, Mr. Hayden & little Hayden. Take a guess at what part of the cake smashing Kobe liked best. Eating the candle. Like I said before, hard core. Thanks guys!

Tongier Kids!

I’ve known Amy since we were kids attending Outer Banks Baptist church. She comes from one of the kindest most loving families in the world, the Carden’s. They have been family friends of ours forever & Mrs. Audrey cooks like my Granny, southern deliciousness on a plate, enough said.

I got the chance to photograph her kids a few weeks ago. Four kids to be exact. All I have to say is Amy and Keith are doing something right because those are four of the most well behaved, sweet kids I’ve ever met. Madison (the oldest) could carry on a conversation with me like we were old pals.

We pretty much ran around the whole time at the beach and when they got the ok to touch the water, any chance of having dry clothing was out the door. Here’s a few fun ones from our session!

Belly Flops: Meredith & Banks

I decided to do something a little different with this maternity session. When Meredith contacted me to do a session of her belly & her super cute little guy Banks I immediately started thinking of ways to keep her two year old son interacting with her soon to be little girl. Kids are fast, especially two year old boys and I knew I wanted more than one photo of Banks and the baby belly so I suggested that we do a little finger painting. Meredith agreed that it sounded fun & it was. Happy we did the photos when we did because a few days later baby Saylor was here! Stay tuned for her newborn session!

Mr. Mason

I had a super fun session with Mr. Mason who is now 15 months old. It’s so funny to see little boys the same age as my little guy. Mason had the same look in his eyes that Finn gets, they say I’m looking for trouble.

I went to school with Mason’s mom and dad growing up so it’s really neat to see a little version of them running around, although I have to say he reminded me SO much of his daddy. I kept wanting to call him little Wade.

We pulled out apples at the beginning of the shoot to use as “props” evidently Mason now LOVES green apples because he wouldn’t put them down the entire shoot he was chomping beginning to end, needless to say there is an apple in almost every photograph. Loved the location for his shoot as well, it’s nice to get away from that beach setting sometimes and I think it fit little Wade perfect.

FYI, I DID photo shop mama’s hand out of the tractor photo. Breath easy, I practice safe photography at all times.
